Hello everyone, I'm off to college in 2 weeks and I'm looking for some tips to make my life easier. I'm going to be riding and working at the barn every day. Thankfully I have a single room so I don't have to worry about the smell offending my roommate.
I keep a lot of my stuff at the barn, but I still need to figure out what to do as far as washing barn clothes and horse laundry, changing clothes, shoes, etc.
I figure I can throw my dirty horse laundry (mostly saddle pads, polo wraps, etc) in the trunk of my car, then sneak down to my dorm's laundromat to wash them, hehe. I bought a drying rack for my room so I can dry them in there, or will it make them moldy? I could bring a fan to dry them faster, I suppose.
There's one day a week where I have to go straight from the barn to class, which I'm not looking forward to. I can change shoes but probably won't have the motivation to change clothes. Has anyone else gone to class in barn clothes? haha
Another problem is that I have to ride my bike from my dorm to the parking lot where my car is so that I can drive to the barn - so I really don't know how I'm going to cart boots/dressage pads on a bike..
Basically any tips on how you made riding and college easier would be very helpful. Thanks!! |
