How To Write A Book

This is a short guide on how to write a book written by me and my friend. Enjoy.

1. Think of an idea to write about
2. Get paper
3. Get a writing utensil
4. Place utensil on paper
5. Move your hand to form your name
6. Quickly and accurately spellcheck your name
7. If you’re retarded
8. Hold the pencil (or any other writing utensil but from here on out this book will say pencil) in your hand in the correct writing position
9. Then write every letter individually to make a word
10. The most common choices are In, The, or Once
11. Then after every word put a space( a small empty spot about a quarter inch [or finger’s width for those of you with large handwriting]
12. After all the words you want are on the paper, read it to make sure the words make sense
13. Then you publish it or give it to your mom
14. Or burn it
We hope this guide was both useful and entertaining. But if it wasn’t that’s just too bad.

Family Matters Part 2

Sierra hugged her back, but with not nearly as much enthusiasm. ‘That must be Claire,’ Mike thought. He could see why Sierra didn’t like her that much. Sierra was sort of quiet and appeared withdrawn at times- much like himself. Claire was loud, perky, and cheerful. Way to cheerful considering she had just spend at least the last five hours on a plane.

By then Sierra had detached herself from Claire, and was saying, “Claire this is by boyfriend, Mike Nesmith.” Mike extended his hand, and Claire shook it, saying, “I’m Claire.” Then she turned to Sierra, and said, “What about John? Won’t he be jealous?” Claire said this in a low voice, but it was obvious that she didn’t care if Mike heard or not.

“Claire,” Sierra said, more than a little annoyed. “I never dated John. He’s just a friend. Besides,” she added, with a glance at the tall Texan standing beside her. “I haven’t seen him in years.” With that, Sierra grabbed one of Claire’s bags, and walked quickly away. Mike shot a helpless glance at Claire, then took off after Sierra. With his longer legs, Mike caught up with her quickly.

He grabbed her arm, and Sierra stopped and looked at Mike. “Sorry,” she said. “But sometimes I can’t stand her. It’s like she doesn’t know when she’s saying something hurtful or inappropriate.” Mike opened his mouth to say something, but shut it again when he saw Claire hurrying toward the two of them.

“Why’d you take off like that?” the blond girl asked. “It was kinda rude.” Sierra shot Mike a ‘what-did-I-tell-you’ look, then said, “it’s not important. We should be going now, anyway.” Mike led the way to the Monkee Mobile, and when they got to the car, Claire stared at the red convertible for a minute. Then she shrugged, and tossed her bags into the second row of seats and climbed in. Sierra got into the front passenger’s seat.

While Mike was maneuvering the car through the traffic, Claire leaned forward and tapped her sister on the shoulder. Turning partially around, Sierra said, “What?” “Well,” Claire began. “You said you live with four guys, but I’ve only met Mike. At least tell me who’s who.” “Are you sure?” Sierra joked. “It might be better for your sanity if you don’t meet them at all.” This got a laugh out of Mike, but Claire just looked at her sister.

“Ok,” the tall girl said. “First there’s Davy. He’s short, with brown hair and an English accent. And there’s Micky, who’s got curly brown hair, and will most likely be wearing a tablecloth. Don’t ask,” she said, seeing her twin’s face. “Plus there’s Peter. He’s blond and seems stupid at times, but we still love him.”

Family Matters Part 1

Title: Family Matters Part 1
Author: Hazeltail
Rating: PG
Warnings: kiss between Sierra and Mike
Genre: series
Pairing: Sierra/Mike

Sierra slammed her car door closed harder than was necessary, but she didn’t care. Her day had been awful. First off, she had been late for work because her car wouldn’t start. With help from Micky, she finally got the engine running, but her boss had still yelled at her. Trying hard (and failing) not to think about the rest of her day, she quickly drove back to The Pad.

Noticing that the Monkee Mobile was gone, Sierra remembered that the guys had an audition to play for a party that day. She silently wished them luck. Sifting through the mail that someone, probably Micky, had thrown all over the table, Sierra found a letter with her name on it amidst the bills and advertisements. Looking at the return address, she had a bad feeling that her day was about to get a whole lot worse.

The letter said that Sierra’s twin sister, Claire, was going to visit for two weeks. Groaning, Sierra sank into a char at the table and put her head in her hands. She sat like that for a few minutes until she heard a key in the door. Looking up, she saw Davy walk in the door, followed by Peter.

After nodding to Sierra in greeting, Davy rushed over to the phone and dialed a number that she guessed was written on the paper the Brit was holding. When she looked quizzically at Peter, the blond man said, “He met a girl.” Sierra grinned and rolled her eyes. “What about what’s-her-face?” Sierra asked. “Jenna,” she said, remembering the girl’s name. Peter shrugged, and walked out the door. Davy followed him, looking discouraged since no one answered on the other line.

“Davy broke up with her earlier,” said a familiar voice. Turning around, Sierra saw Mike standing in the doorway, guitar on his back. The tall Texan set down his guitar near the bass Peter had brought in, walked over and gave Sierra a hug. She returned it and, noticing that Peter and Davy were gone, kissed Mike. She wasn’t very comfortable showing affection around other people. He held her for another moment, then let go. He smiled reassuringly at her, and then went outside where Davy and Peter were helping Micky with the drums. Once again, Sierra had the strange sensation that Mike knew exactly how she was feeling; it was like he knew how bad her day had been.

She waited for the guys to come back inside, then threw a wad of paper at Davy, who ducked, and the paper fell harmlessly to the floor. “Wha’ was that about?” the short man asked. “Now that I have your attention,” she said, choosing to ignore the question. “I got a letter from my sister. She’s visiting for two weeks, and gets here on Saturday.” Micky looked at her for a second, then said, “I didn’t know you had a sister.” Blushing, Sierra remembered that she had only told Mike much about her family.

“Well I do,” she began. “Her name’s Claire and she’s my twin, but we’re nothing alike. First of all, she’s, like, 5’ 6’’ and has straight blond hair, which are some obvious differences,” she said, referring to her wavy red-brown hair and tall height. Shaking her head, she said, “Well, you’ll see when you meet her.”

Mike had appeared to be wrapped up in his own thoughts for the last few minutes, and Sierra supposed he was, since he already knew what she had been telling the guys. Now he spoke, pushing a lock of black hair out of his eyes. “Where’s she gonna sleep when she gets here?” he asked. Sierra paused for a moment, thinking. “She can stay in my room,” she said. “And I guess I’ll sleep on the couch.

Later that night, Sierra was sitting on the couch with Mike, watching TV, when she remembered the audition from earlier that day. “Did you get the job?” she asked, sitting up a little straighter. The Texan nodded, and said, “Yeah. We almost didn’t, though. Davy kept flirting with the guy’s daughter, and he wasn’t too happy about that.” Sierra giggled, then look at the clock. It said 12:13. Getting up off the couch, she said “I’m gonna go to bed now. I don’t wanna end up being late for work. Again,” she added bitterly. Mike nodded, and got up as well. When Sierra got to her room, she could hear Mike walk up the stairs, and then a short yelp. She guessed Micky had left his junk all over Mike’s bed, and Mike had woken him up.

The next morning, Sierra woke up to the sound of Micky loudly complaining about having to get up. She looked over at her clock, which was flashing 5:36. Great. That meant it had stopped in the middle of the night and now she had no idea what time it was. But she guessed it was later than she was supposed to get up, since she was usually the first or second person up.

Grumbling, she grabbed some relatively clean clothes to change into, and walked down the hall to the bathroom. About halfway there, she ran into Micky. Knowing that he’d take forever in the shower, she rushed inside, and locked the door behind her. Micky pounded on the door, but Sierra just laughed evilly.

Ten minutes later, she rushed into the kitchen, and drank a quick cup of coffee. When she got to her car, she crossed her fingers and hoped that it would start without problems. It did. Sighing with relief, she made it to work just barely on time.

The rest of the week passed without anything of significance happening. On Saturday, however, Sierra woke up at five, and went outside to watch the sunrise. Mike, who had trouble sleeping that night, went into the living room and saw Sierra sitting on the beach outside. He went out to join her, and they sat without speaking for almost an hour.

Noticing that Sierra looked a little sad, Mike put his arms around her, and gave her a quick hug. Sierra rested her head on Mike’s shoulder and said, “Ya know, this is the only peace and quiet we’re gonna get around here for the next two weeks.” Figuring she should explain, she continued, “Claire’s kinda… loud. And she always sticks her nose in everybody’s business. It's so annoying.” After a moment, Mike said, “Well, her plane doesn’t come in for a few hours, right?” Sierra nodded. “Then why don’t we just sit here for a few minutes instead of you worryin’. You do seem kinda tense.” Sierra remained silent, and Mike pulled her closer to him, and wrapped his arms around her.

A little while later he got to his feet. “We better go get the guys up,” he said, extending a hand to help Sierra up. “By the way,” he added. “It’s your turn to get Micky up.” He grinned evilly with Sierra groaned. She hated getting Micky up. Once inside, she ran to Mike and Micky’s room, and chucked a pillow at the mop of curly brown hair sticking out from under the sheets.

Once she made sure that Micky wouldn’t go back to sleep, Sierra went into the kitchen, where Peter was looking around in the cupboards. “Whatcha looking for, Pete?” she asked, starting the coffee maker. “Cereal,” he replied. She smiled at him, and opened the cupboard to her left. She poured a cup of coffee and left the kitchen so Peter would have more room. After drinking the coffee, she took a quick shower, and changed into some clothes that didn’t have sand on them.

Calling down the stairs, Sierra said, “Can someone give me a ride to the airport? The piece of junk that is my car can’t make it that far.” “I can in a minute. I still haven’t even brushed my teeth yet ‘cause Davy’s hoggin’ the bathroom,” Mike yelled back, glaring at the closed bathroom door.
